By Saffron is an oriental composition that opens with a light citrus note of large Asian grapefruit and crisp juniper berries, which are softened by black Kashmiri saffron in a golden veil. In the heart lies black pansy and a leather accord, and their dark and dry composition is highlighted by a delicate, transparent crystal rose. In the base, light wood gives radiant warmth and harmony with staccato accents of juicy raspberries. Sacred to all Indians, saffron is the color of Buddhist clothing that has become a symbol of India and has always been a part of Byredo’s founders’ Indian origins, both in scent, taste and color.
